Mawuli Sokpo Fabrice was born on the 22nd August 1984 in Lome – Togo. He attended Saint Augustin D’Armoutieve Junior High School in Togo.SK Originale was blessed with a family whose talent was music, from child hood he was singing in churches especially during programmes in both his church and others. Life after JHS was full of family issues hence his dad promised him education in Ghana due to what the family was facing inside Togo. The mind of going to school in order to be able to learn how to speak English brought SK Originale to the Ghana. Unfortunately life did not go as the young man planned hence He was faced with a more difficult situation in Ghana hence was asked by his dad to learn some trade after which he will gather some monies to further his education. In 1999, SK Originale quest to study into higher heights crushed as the talent even forgot about his music talent and decided to learn Carpentry. In anticipation to gather some monies for school, SK Originale learnt the making of Construction and furniture hence he is a professional carpentry. |
Even with that trade, SK Originale could not gather enough money to further his trade and his dad’s promise was not forth coming so SK decide to forget about the school hoping that one day he will return to the class room.
The journey to a successful music career has not been easy, currently signed to Bakus Entertainment; SK Originale formally called SK Blinks has seen it all from the streets through to professional stages.
His dream of singing started when he met Paa Zorr who was also an artiste but trying to get into mainstream music circles.
This is around the year 2000. SK Originale approached Paa with all courage and made his preposition of hoping to get some beats without vocals from the sound engineer Mr. Meeck. The latter agreed and sold three beats with each costing GHC1.50p (Ghc15000 old currency).
Funny enough the once church singer still stood by his gospel rules by selecting a beat of a gospel song for his first mixtape. He did not lay vocals on the beat but used it to perform during his streets carnivals inside Accra.
The street was calling more, everyone on the streets after he had performed will be shouting his name and with that he had the chance to join the first Ruff Ryders (motor exhibitors) in Nima.
The dream to becoming a renowned musician was burning inside SK Originale as the artiste jumped from Stage to stage all on the streets.Sometimes he will fix their stage and do all wooden works available after which he will rock the stage.
